Study Programme in Singapore
A regional gateway to the Reggio Emilia Approach
The Study Programme in Singapore invites educators within the region to engage deeply with the Reggio Emilia Approach in a Singaporean context. Through thoughtfully curated experiences, the programme brings the philosophy to life with:
- Dynamic interactions with experienced educators
- Hands-on experiences that bring the Reggio Emilia philosophy to life
- Professional dialogues grounded in collaboration, research, and participation
Whether you are new to the approach or looking to deepen your practice, the Study Programme offers structured pathways to support your professional learning journey.

Learning Without Borders, Rooted in Context
While the Reggio Emilia Approach was born in Italy, its values transcend borders. Singapore’s vibrant multicultural education landscape offers a compelling setting to explore how the approach can be meaningfully interpreted and adapted beyond its place of origin.
Designed for educators within the region, the Study Programme provides high-quality professional learning grounded in Reggio-inspired values. It is particularly relevant for those who wish to:
- Discover how Reggio-inspired principles translate into practice in the local and regional context
- Engage in hands-on, reflective professional learning immediately applicable to their own settings
- Join a regional community of educators passionate about child-centred, inquiry-based learning
Two Pathways, One Philosophy
The REACH Study Programme offers two levels of engagement to meet educators where they are:
- Foundation Level – Building your understanding
A comprehensive introduction to the key principles of the Reggio Emilia Approach, focusing on how theory translates into meaningful, context-driven practice. - Intermediate Level – Deepening your practice
A specialised focus on creativity, materials, and the Atelierista, exploring how expressive languages and collaborative processes shape cultures of learning.
Both pathways are designed to be immersive and relational, encouraging educators to ask deeper questions about what it means to work with children, families, and communities in respectful, reflective, and researchful ways.

The programme is ideal for:

This was my first experience with the Reggio Emilia Approach, and it has been eye-opening both professionally and personally. I gained new insights on understanding and supporting children in their own ways, which I can apply in my school and with my son. I also valued the new connections and friendships made, and I look forward to future workshops or continued learning opportunities.

REACH Study Programme gave me a deeper appreciation of the Reggio Emilia Approach and helped me see that each school can adapt it in unique ways. The school tours highlighted these differences, and I’m grateful to REACH for the opportunity to learn, engage, and connect with other educators.

One of my biggest takeaways from the programme is the importance of designing and reflecting on learning spaces. Having the opportunity to design my own space and receive constructive feedback from both facilitators and peers was invaluable, which brings me to the power of community and collaboration. Hearing fellow educators share their challenges and successes has shown me the beauty of turning difficulties into opportunities. Lastly, the expertise and dedication of the facilitators have left a lasting impression on me, growing not only knowledge but also inspiration to continue improving my practice.

The study programme was very insightful as I could feel how strong the meaning of Image Of The Child from the carefully selected materials, the art of listening to the children, the inviting provocation and its environment which are very much child-led.

The most valuable takeaway would be the significance of The Image of the Child and Rights of the Child are through a Reggio lens. The in-depth exploration and discussions solidified my values and beliefs on how educators should view children.

Attending REACH Study Programme is such a great sharing moment. Discussing about “Children Rights” becomes an “AHA” moment for a reflection “what have we (adults/educators) done to support the rights?”
