Twilight Evening Visit to EtonHouse Thomson

Twilight visits began in Australia as a means of supporting professional dialogue  and reflection amongst educators working with the inspirations of the Reggio Emilia Approach. They are after school visits to centres working with the values and principles of the educational project of Reggio Emilia and offer an opportunity to meet and network with other like minded colleagues.

When:  Thursday 25th September 2014
              4.30-6.30
Where: EtonHouse Thomson (8 Thomson Lane Singapore)

How do we make our values and beliefs (about young children and how young children learn) visible to others? How do we build ‘identity’ in a learning space?

EtonHouse Thomson is a new campus having relocated from the previous site in Orchard Boulevard. We invite you to see how educators have begun to construct learning spaces for children which reflect a vision of working in collaboration with children and their families; where image of child informs practice and pedagogy and where spaces are seen as places of encounter.

Our first visit for 2014 will be hosted by:

EtonHouse International Pre-School, Claymore
15 Claymore Road, Singapore 229542
Wednesday 16th April, 4.30-6.00 pm

Visitors will have approximately 40-50 minutes to visit the preschool classrooms, followed by a brief dialogue with Trish Brown, the artist-in–residence working to support children’s thinking and representation competencies in the visual arts. We will attempt to build understanding about the importance of the role of the Atelierista (artist-in-residence) and the significance of the 100 languages/materials in offering children diverse opportunities to express their ideas, thoughts and theories. There will be opportunities for dialogue and sharing amongst participants.

COST: SGD $45.00 PER PERSON
